Premature ventricular contraction
Park Kyoung-Min

Abstract
Premature ventricular contraction (PVC), also known as premature ventricular complex, ventricular premature contraction/complex, ventricular premature beat, or ventricular extrasystole, is a relatively common event where the heartbeat is initiated by Purkinje fibers in the ventricles rather than by the sinoatrial node, the normal heartbeat initiator. The electrical events of the heart detected by an electrocardiogram allow PVC to be easily distinguished from a normal heartbeat. This paper provides useful information about PVC to physicians for understanding and managing clinical PVC.
